I watched this movie once again with my wife and did not find it as entertaining as it was the first time round.

Many things looked stupid, the first off all,the delivery  with a vaccum cleaner.

    400 patents!!!

Kareena waited 10 years for getting married

Farhan and Raju, not able to get which city Rancho came from!!Hello haven’t heard of college registration book???

Having caught them for theft of question paper and allowing Racho and Raju write exams!!!

Too many to list, the only reason why i think the movie is doing good because of lack of other good hindi movies

    First time experience

Review the movie or the drama with the jounalist? well both :-)

The movie is as entertaining as the drama which followed with the journos.

Have seen the Munna Bhai series dished out from Hirani and Vidhu Vinod chopra , so was expecting a thorough entertainer like their previous movies, and i was not disappointed.

The movie is a 3 hours pure entertainer. It is a simple story, as with all other Raj Kumar Hirani movies, with only one twist which keeps the attention of the audience all the way through.

I would not get into story of the movie, because it is not complicated one, there are many funny scenes, like the speech of Chutoor Ramalingam and many good scenes in the movie

One scene  in particular was when Raju and Farhan pull thier pant down to salute Rancho, instead of looking gross, the scene gives a lump in the throat and way Rancho reacts to that salute is just only some one like Aamir khan can make it look it.

If you have seen Munna bhai MBBS, you cannot help but to compare a few instances of 3 idiots and and Munna Bhai ( will not gointo the details)

Rancho gets patents, i fail to understand this from a guy who is free willed and a dreamer, who goes behind wisdom and not information. So why should rancho ‘patent’ his inventions or ideas? The story writers (Abhijat Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani) obviously have not thought of this, they wanted to show how Rancho is a intellect, but should have come with better idea than patents.

Aamir khan as Rancho, convinces me as much as he did as ‘Aakash’ in ‘DCH’. He is just magic when he comes on screen, there are very few actors like Aamri Khan who commands your attentions every time s/he comes on screen for a period of 3 hours, but Aamir does it ’effortlessly’.

Rest of the cast is good Kareena Kapoor( looks sexy as always even with the geeky glasses) Sharman Joshi, Omi and Boman irani but i thought Madhavan was a miscast, though me managed to do a good job.

Direction and story telling as simple as it gets, the beauty is the director is not in mood of leaving anything to audience, except the feel good factor. I must mention there are too many cinematic liberties taken.

Recommendation: 3 idots: Hindi movie:* Aamir khan- Must watch!!

Recommendation: Press conference: Hindi/English *Vidhu vinod Chopra,Aamir Khan, Raj Kumar Hirani- Watch before you die :-)

Afterthe Ruchika girhotra verdict a lot of people felt the need to to curb the po;lice atrociteis on common man. In our country, the general public, the media, the MHA, all sleep over almost all issues, untill one fine we get an issue like the Ruchika verdict and every body is busy giving thier opinions (like me :-)).We do not need these cases to happen as an eye opener for us.

It is a well established fact that our law enforcement agencies (read police) either go very well with our politicians or face thier ire, i remember every time there is a government change in our states, particularly UP, the cops are transffered just to get in the elected party’s ‘men’ in the right position.

My question why can not we have the police authority reporting a independent authority, independent of the politicians? I know the home ministry is responsible for the internal security of the country, but since we can not rule of the police-politicians nexus in this, we have to come up with a better system than the existing one.

    1. Can we have let the existing system to continue funciton the way it does and have another independent authorithy ( goverened by the home ministry) to monitor the working of the police with out curruption and its reduce its brutalities on general public? The problem with this is, the notorious red-tapism comes into play.

    2. As told earliar, we can have police report to an independent authority, like the all powerfull and respectfull and relatively less corrupt the Supreme court of India who is at the apex of the hierarchy for the entire country and the 21 High Courts at the top of the hierarchy in most of States of India

Supreme court itself is plagued by corruptions at various levels but then it is the place which the public attach a lot of reverence too.

If the latter is implemented, the situations looks better than the before. We would not know if the commissioner of police would be reporting to High Court judge or an panel of judges, but atleast the commissioner will be talking to highly educated people.

When i set out for this back packing trip, i knew it was the usual vacation i have with my friends, since this was to be a budget trip. Most of the places we visited were unplanned or rather planned on a coffee table of the places, which we were in. Except for pondicherry and Rameshwaram, no other town/city was planned initially by us.

Ramwershwaram and Danushkodi  was the highpoint of the trip. Let me go through place in the order Vinay and me visted

Pondicherry, a former colony of the French, the place is quiet exotic in patches, as with any associated with France, be it their foot ball or food. One can make out the where the french were living and where the locals where living untill it became a union territory in1962. There is clear demarcation of sorts in the city, the cramped houses and lanes of where the locals lived and the clear big pathways with wider roads and better drainage system in areas where the french lived. The Aurobindo Ashram is situated in the French area, must feel the calmness and serenity of that place.

Moving along to Aurovile, which i guess is in Tamil Nadu state, about 12-15 KM from the main town of Pondycherry, it is colony of Firangs with the locals. The place is handpicked by the Mata herself. The developers of Aurovile have made sure to keep nature intact where ever possible, a small exmaple, most of the roads are not tarred and another one, a Solar kitchen in place and another instance is the encouragement of electric vehicles, with many places, like the Solar Kitchen even have charging point for the electric vehicles at their parking lots.

There is something very nice about Aurovile, there is something good in its emptiness, which i can not explain, it should be felt.  The town itself is an experimenting one, it is a self governing town.

There is no local transport in Aurovile, but since green in encouraged, one can hire a cycle and paddle inside the town to feel the warm atmosphere.

The beach is not far from Aurovile town, it is not a very rough beach, and one can play in the water, the waves look playful.

Coming back to our trip, Pondycherry was my first bike trip way back in 2005 (i was a pillion then). So the excitement and the nostalgic feeling is there. Vinay (who too was part of my first bike trip) was in full enthu to test his endurance.

Food is not a problem for both Veg and non-veggies in both pondicherry and in Aurovile

The Energy levels of the town is concentrated at the bus stand, which i felt was not very well connected to its neighboring places, be it with frequency or with the quality of busses. The busses are usually over crowded and run at 150 % of its full capacity.

From Pondicherry, we were on way to Rameshwaram and more importantly Dahushkodi. It was an event full journey, had to go to 4 ( Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Tanjore and Pudukottai) places, all known for their temples before reaching Rameshwaram at 6 in the morning.

It belongs to Tamilnadu state, but an island connected by the sprawling Pamban bridge, which was inagurated by then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, after the old bridge was destroyed in the 1964 cyclone, which destroyed the Dhanushkodi town as well

We cleansed our sins by bathing in the 21 wells of Rameshwaram :-). How is wish it was this easy.

Since  Rameshwaram is a pilgrimage center, most of the town speak hindi owing the large north indians visiting this place, because of it being a pious place in the hindu mythology. I think if we put together all the hindi speaking people of Rameshwaram they would outnumber the number of hindi speaking people of the entire state of Tamil nad.

There are s many temple places associated with lord Rama in this town, the main temple has the pious ‘Linga’.

About 18 KM from Rameshwaram, is a town called Dhanushkodi (meaning, tip of the bow). This place has always fascinated me from the time i heard it is a ‘ghost town’ and it surely does live upto its name.

The bus from Ram’waram drops you at start of the dhanushkodi, which also harbors Indian navy watch towers and patrolling stations. To go the actual town, one has to go on 4×4 or any vehicle which can drive in the sandy land. The distance is about 6-7 KM, where the 4×4 stops and the first thing you notice about the place is nothingness in it, even with many tourists roaming about and many locals selling things, there is a sense of emptiness in that place. There are many ruined structures still standing in the sandy town, which gives a picture of how the town actually was. There is Church structure, temple and also a building with many horizontal rooms, which looks like a bank or a government building to me.

If you think of the storm which brought the whole town, a train carrying 115 passengers and the bridge connecting the island and mainland down, it must be quiet a storm. There are still few fishermen staying there, but the eerie feeling does not go down. Its as though the town is waiting to be brought back to its life, but some forces are not allowing to come up :-)

To stand on the tip of the land, surrounded by water on 3 sides and a thin strip of land behind you, is a breathtaking exp. The water is crystal blue and the white sand, these are unmatched beauty, which needs to be experienced there, standing on tip of the available land and watching the water, if the force of water wave is a little strong, there is no place to run.

Back to Rameshwaram, which is bustling with the pilgrims, has variety of food, which says the number of people who visit the island.

From Ramaeshwaram, we travelled to Coutrallam, which is a Tirunelvelli district of TN, famous for its Halwa, a super sweet delicacy found made in here.

Everything about Coutrallam is on tourism, the market place, the bus stops. There are about 3 falls, the best is the ‘5 falls’

The people of Tamil Nadu are usual helpful and it gets better if you know Tamil language.

Came across a character in Coutrallam, near the ‘5 falls’, fun to talk to strangers. The thing that excites me about strangers is i do not pre judge about them, neither do they about me So the conversation usually starts empty then builds matter, else its usually the other way round, with people whom you think you know :-)

When I was born, I was born with several identities which would remain for my life time.

Identities like religion, caste, citizen of my country, name of my parents my Surname. these identities have come the moment I took birth. Then there was the mother of all identities ‘Name’ which was bestowed a little.

After my schooling, while in college I was allowed to pursue my education in the field I wanted to and after college I was free to choose the companies I wanted to work for.

Why do not I have freedom like this to choose my religion, caste etc. I love my religion and my caste but I should have chosen it with pride.

In school there are so many different subjects we learn about. We could pursue our higher education based on the subjects we are good at or what we like to do.

In the same way, I should be taught about all the religion and I should be the one who decides which religion I choose to live with and which caste I should belong to and not the religion and caste which my parents are off.

Of course one can change the every identity he or she got at the time of birth, Name religion, and citizenship but at what cost would one do that?

What if some one destroys our homes and builds their homes over it…..

My mom always complains about ants. They are the silent killers…eat away our food without our knowledge or we have to throw the food which they have invaded.

Was wondering y do the so called pests (Ant, rats, lizards, rochaes) attack our home….because we have either destroyed their house and built ours or taken away the land they stay in.

We humans being the rational animal, we pay money to buy land and construct our homes, but they are no as ‘smart’ and as ‘rational’ as we are. They do not have register office where they can pay money and get the land for themselves. They live free and we think they are a problem for us, but we do not think who created the problem. The Ants, rats, lizards they are just doing what they are born to do.

I have seen one of Brad Pitt’s movies “Seven years in Tibet”, in that they show, how people living in Tibet that time never dug into the ground for constructing house for the fear of hurting the living creatures beneath the ground level. Can any human be so thought full now?

Even in these times, where humans do not care about other humans, forget about animals, I know people of Jain religion and Brahmins of Hindu religion who do not eat vegetables like onions, radish etc, which are grown below the ground level because they might eat the ground creatures which could be in those vegetables.

Talking about Jains, there are people in that religion who cover their mouth with a cloth to make sure even micro organism are not eaten by them even unknowingly. This is showing concern to other living beings. Hats off to you people

So the next time you complain about roaches, ants in your bedroom, think of it y are they in your bedroom??

There are so many pests control companies, can there be some human control companies too?
